Kennedy Getting the Call!

Ian Kennedy will take Mike Mussina's place in the Yankee Rotation starting Saturday. He has not been added to the 40 yet, but I'd look for Brower to go. Kennedy may be bumping up against his innings limit, so that will have to be watched. He is not the power pitcher that Hughes and Joba are, but he's got 4 really good pitches and plus control of his fastball. Let's hope he's not tapped and can keep the spot down the stretch. Go Ian! Go Yanks!

I read that Mussina will just be skipped one time through the rotation.

Not sure how effective Mussina will be with all of this time off between starts.

I am pulling for Kennedy but his FB is not much better than Mussina's at this point.

but his command of it and everything else he throws is. Kennedy was reportedly sitting 91-92 and touching 93-94 in a lot of his starts.

On a side note Phil, today Jim Callis said Salcedo is still a free agent. Are we still pursuing from what you know?
