Kobe to the Knicks?
I'm really not seeing anyway that this could happen that wouldn't create more riots out here. What are your thoughts?

Phil, have you heard anything regarding Kobe being traded? Are the Knicks involved?

If we could get a third team involved I like our chances much better. At the very least 2 draft picks Frye Lee and some combo of Q,Francis,and Craw would have to go.
Stephen A. Smtih, who, if he knows anything knows the NBA, characterizes the Knicks' chances of being able to trade for Kobe as "slim."
While I agree that it's a longshot, I dont see the Bulls gutting their entire roster and picks for Bryant. I think LA will realize there is no fair straight up deal, a third team to be involved. Why not get the Wizards involved with Arenas?
if he gets traded it will be by the draft time and its only Knicks or Bulls
Dan what could the Knicks offer that would make LA deal with us? I think that the Bulls wont do it b/c they know the Lakers can really gut the team and Paxson wont do it.
Knicks will offer from what i hear is Crawford Lee, Frye, then either Balkman or Malik(malik is if they want lakers to throw one of there big contract left guys in) and then couple 1st round picks for the next couple of years

I personally think the Knicks have a better chance of getting him, then media is making it out to be...Isiah will give up his right and left nut for him
I happen to agree with you that the Knicks do have a better chance for the reasons you mention as well as the fact I do not think the Bulls will pay the price.
The Knicks still owe a pick in the Marbury trade so trading a bunch of picks given the prohibition against trading first rounders in consecutive years would be problematic. I don't want the Knicks to trade a bunch of first rounders without lottery protection in 2010 or whatever because you never know what will happen with injuries and Kobe could be declining after he hits 30 in two years.
But Isiah is reckless, so I don't expect anything with great foresight.
On the radio out here, two of them, including Mychal Thompson, think Kobe is staying. One of them kept saying, "Isiah is lurking."
I bet he is lurking :) We may not get him, but I like Dan think we have a better shot then the media is portraying.
I just got an email 10 mins ago saying the Lakers have decided to open trade discussions for Kobe, but right now its only the Bulls
Let the games begin!!! I think Isiah's cell phone bill is going to be enormous. I think we have a shot.
I think the Knicks will be involved before it's said and done despite what ESPN says is the shortlist
