Yanks Start a New Streak

ARod smacked #26 and Jeter smacked #5 and the Yanks generally smacked the Mets. Tyler Clippard had his second poor start in a row and was sent down to AAA to put it back together. He will be back and he will be valuable. Let's win again tomorrow!

Big win today. Impt to follow up a win with a loss. Great offensive output. Clippard being sent down is no surprise. He has shown promise but needs to get his mechanics back in line. WFAN in NY has said that Griffey will be traded to either Boston NYY or Atlanta. I don't see why we even discuss him. If anything I see Dunn coming.

What is the reaction out there to the latest Kobe news? Do our beloved Knicks have a realistic shot at Kobe?

Ooops I meant a loss with a win

I don't know how the Knicks can get Kobe, but I know he is their first choice.

I think Dunn is coming, too. Griffey's health is a little unreliable. I think it will be one or the other. Dunn is coming into his prime and could be a core hitter for the Yanks. I guess it depends on the prospect price.

Griffey has never been able to stay healthy and honestly there is no room for him. Dunn on the other hand is a different story. In Yankee stadium he should flourish. The cost will be far less for Dunn then Tex for sure. I think if we do get Dunn, if it was not made clear, it will be that Giambi has played his last game as NYY.

I think the Knicks would have to get a 3 way possibly. You know Thomas wants him badly. I would suspect many draft picks involved. I expect Isaiah's cell-phone bill to be awfully expensive. Whether or not he makes the best moves, he tries. Which is why I think we have a decent shot at Kobe.

Dunn would have to make a lot of progress at first to stay with the Yanks, but it's possible. I think Giambi will be back and finish his contract as a DH/1b/Bench guy. If he or Dunn could split 1B and DH it would be perfect.

Giambi would be an awfully expensive bench player. I think this team is better off with out him as has been proven. I hope he is out for the year, b/c we cannot afford to Sheffield/Matsui this team as we did last year, especially if we are on a roll. I think Donnie baseball could improve Dunn enough where he is not a liability at 1b. I don't want us to be too clogged up at DH. I like the flexibilty we have now. This team is faster on the bases and better defensively with Melk man in CF. Don't want to see that change.

Watch us make a play for a CF this winter LOL!!!

They have to honor Giambi's contract. And it's a mistake to think that the Yanks are better off with out him. The Yanks are doing better now cause Abreu, Cano and Matsui are hitting. They didn't for the month of May and that's what caused our problems.

Very good point about Abreu Cano and Matsui. I just have always liked it when we put our best defensive team out there and have more options on the base pass. Not saying Giambi does not contribute, but I think they need to think real hard about his role when he does return. I like yourself hope its just as a bench/platoon player.

Ideally, we could get Dunn ready to play first and use Jason as a DH. Then we'd add two .900 ops guys back into the line-up eventually. Mattingly should be able to get Dunn up to speed at first.
