Not Dead Yet?

The article jibes with what I heard late this afternoon: that Reese would still be willing to take Wilson if Denver would come up with additional concessions. Let's see what happens.

so its like 97.7 percent dead
98.6 percent dead, which means it's 50/50.
phil i dont know about you, but i have this nasty feeling that were "failing" his physical, very big mistake
it depends, if we now take him at an even lower cost, than it's less risky. If we're unwilling to do that, then maybe they really don't see him playing much longer.
i dunno this seems like the drew brees thing when he failed with miami, but passed with saints i can see him passing with the eagles or lions(which wouldnt matter much) and be the same ol Al Wilson, which is an all star
but I now think we're still gonna get him.
this website http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com/2007draft.html...says that texans did not match the offer sheet...you think broncos are gonna go lower
yeah, cause he's not gonna want to take a pay cut.
and I think the Texans are trying to get us to give them a pick.
As a Denver fan it makes no sense to me to trade Wilson. Swapping 20 for 21 is basically irrelevant, and therefore tuck and a fourth for wilson is a steal for the giants, big time. an idea of additional concessions seems crazy to me.
im gonna post the vonta news on BBI, and im gonna get reamed at
The Leach news is already on BBI.
anon, are you a Denver fan?
the news on bbi is that texans are gonna match it, this website is reporting that there not gonna match...oh screw it im not gonna post anything
dan, that link is to a draft site.
i know im just trying to find any good news, upsetting day...sorry
Yeah, but I don't see the Leach news anywhere on that site.
i am a denver fan, but i actually live in the NY area so I see all the Giants games and root for them as a second team.
Tuck was never in the deal. Right now, if they're still talking it's about conditional picks instead of the 4. Wilson doesn't want to take a pay cut and I guess had worked out something he could live with with the Giants. Then his neck caused concern and that's when things came apart. We'll see what happens. Good luck to your Broncos.
The Detroit Lions have signed Titans OG Zach Piller
Houston has released QB David Carr and HB Dominick Williams (formerly Dominick Davis)
Houston has decided not to match the Giants offer sheet for FB Vonta Leach...Arizona has signed Browns FB Terrelle Smith
Jacksonville signs Vikings TE Jermaine Wiggins....Atlanta signs FA QB Chris Redman...Carolina signs Jets DE Dave Ball
New York Jets signed FA DE Michael Haynes...Miami signs Cardinals OG Chris Liwienski and Chargers WR Az Zahir-Hakim
it should be on top with Todays NFL NEWS
I think Houston will match the offer sheet come Monday if the Giants don't send them a pick.
you think we can hear anything about wilson tomorrow, or news will come out monday-tuesday
Something will probably leak before Monday.
but you think he'll be a giant
I'd say it's probably 50/50.
M123 here Phil, Good job as always with the info. Do you think we are getting Leach? If we get Al for less we would have that pick to deal, and could still make it up with a trade down scenario.
I don't know. I don't want to have two picks committed in deals before draft weekend.
if we do give up a conditional pick for Al Wilson then that would be next years draft, that being said I still dont want to give up a draft pick for a full back, if we give up any pick for him it is our own fault. Rather increase his salary so that Houston couldnt match then have to give up a draft pick for his services
we should have put a poison pill in the Leach offer. Hopefully Reese will learn.
I think Wilson's gonna get done.
done before the weekend
there was just a blurb on espn that its a dead deal, no chance of happening...i dunno if that was from a paper or just new news
old news.
I hear the provisional deal is coming along.
what can it be, like a pick next year or higher pick this year
I don't know, but it looks like it's gonna happen.
good...you think by the end of the weekend
probably, but it might not be announced till the league office reopens on Monday.
but something will be leaked...looks like denver front office is weak with keeping secrets
I'd expect it would come from there.
Was the physical really the issue or was it posturing on both sides? I hope that Reese and Abrams have provisions in place should his neck be more serious then some think and we are not on the hook for lots of dead cap money.
I dunno, if the deal goes through we should be able to piece it together.
http://community.myfoxcolorado.com/blogs/Denvr_Sports_Insider is reporting that Wilson might need a special neck surgery and still reporting deal between gmen/denver is dead and now redskins and lions are the ones interested
I don't think that's right.
M123 here. It seems Reese is not going to be bullied into anything. Is that the vibe you are getting? Is Leach a dead issue? I would be very excited if we got Al at a cheaper then expected price.
i would rather take a chance with Wilson then Spikes
so would I. Spikes may very well be done.
lol you gotta be kidding me...what happen to this no injury thing
but i would rather the Giants have Spikes then the eagles to have Spikes
