Yanks Miss Out on Chili

While the Giants were losing on the field, the Yanks were losing off the field, as the Red Sox hired Chili Davis to be their new hitting coach.  I really hope this is not one of these offseasons where we can't rangle our first choices.   We're off to a bad start.

Probably too independent minded for them

Uninspiring choice.

We also lost Hillman while they were twiddling their thumbs.

The Yankees are no longer an attractive place. Why woukd a hitting coach want to work with so many players at the end of their career on a win now team that has a bad GM? No place for smart guys like Davis and Hillman.

Is this Cash, or ownership??

I think it's both. And the manager. The only thing that they have going for them now is money and they don't even spend it right.

Gary Denbo will be replacing Mark Newman. Was hoping they'd get someone from outside the organization, but that was probably expecting far too much.

Apparently, they don't want their business as usual mediocrity disrupted.

I suspect that the best people don't want to work for them.
