Yanks: Both GCL Teams Win as Notable Prospects Make Their Debuts

Both GCL teams won today, in typical short season debuts.  That is to say, leads were gained and lost pretty easily.  What was notable today were the American or professional debuts of some of the more exciting prospects in the organization.  Yanks 1 feature Jorge Mateo, the high upside SS, Leonardo Molina, the high upside OF, Alexander Palma, another high upside OF an P Simon De La Rosa.  Interesting bats, like Drew Bridges and Dalton Smith also made their 2014 debuts.

Over on GCL 2, Domingo  Acevedo got the start throwing 4 innings of 2 run 5K ball.  Needs to cut the walks.  Also debuting were 2B Junior Valera,  LF Franie Frias, and RF Wilmer Romero.    None of this year's picks really saw any action, but they'll be back out there tomorrow.

But as of right now all 8 affiliates have starter their seasons.   Good stuff.
