"An up-tempo, attacking style of offense"
That's what Coach McAdoo says he will run with the Giants. Hopefully, part of that will involve getting the plays in faster, and avoiding all of those costly delay of game penalties we've accumulated over the years. And of course, this should really help Eli, who, early in his career, and late in many games, including two Super Bowls, has been a world beater when playing up-tempo.
Coach Coughlin said that McAdoo was the best man for the job, and that they would run a compromise between what we have been running and the more West Coast oriented offense that Coach McAdoo comes from. That seems like it would be sort of Fassel-like in execution. And remember Coughlin's been interested in up-tempo for awhile, even offering Chip Kelly a job on his staff a few years ago. He's an old dog, but he likes new tricks.
It also turns out the McAdoo had a phone call with Eli Manning last week, before he even interviewed and Eli sounds like he's excited. That's of course a good thing.
Now, we'll see what else they do with the staff, and when they announce it. Good stuff so far.
