The GM Meetings

Today, Cashmoney Green finds himself in Chicago at the annual GM meetings. Nothing much ever happens at the GM meetings, but sometimes the groundwork for trades can be laid ahead of the Winter Meetings, which are coming up in December. There have already been some trades, so perhaps some things will happen. But a Yankee move would be unlikely right now because they haven't had their annual meetings yet. Cash generally uses the GM meetings for "fact finding." Go Cash! Go Yanks!

Interested in Cameron for 6-8MM to play CF?

I read NY tried to get him on 8/31 but failed so Yanks do like him.

pass on Cameron, younger and faster no need for him. Francesa was saying that teams are not including big names in their media guides as they are not planning to have them on their team. Supposedly there are over 100 name to semi-name players due arbitration that will likely be free agents and Mike thinks the Yanks will be in on them just b/c they are avail though he did not mention names

If last year's playing coy about bats is any indication, I expect the Yankees to land Holliday:

–He made an interesting, telling remark when he said, referring to last year’s Mark Teixeira signing, “We looked at the available free-agent market going forward. We felt we were going to need that type of impact bat. And we needed to move on it last year, because this year, those type of bats weren’t going to be as available.”

In other words, act like you're uninterested, then swoop in for the steal.

We'll see. I'm not sure Lackey will be in the plans unless Andy retires.

I'd rather the Yankees sign an outfielder and wait until after 2010 to sign a starting pitcher.
