Nine in a Row!

Yanks won what could have been a disaster tonight. With one out in the first, Joba took a comebacker off the side of his right knee, and left the game after giving up two hits and not being able to drive off his backfoot. X-rays were negative and I'm sure he's day to day. Alfredo Aceves came in, got the final out in the first and pitched till the 5th. The reason it wasn't as bad as it could have been was that the Yanks scored four runs on doubles by Jeter, Cano, Tex, Matsui and Melky in the first, and a two run shot by Cano in the second. They were up 6-0 while Aceves cruised. Albaladejo came and gave up 4 runs before giving way to Veras and finally Mo who pitched a 1,2,3 9th. Good win for a team that could have been sent reeling by the Joba injury. Here's hoping Joba's back soon. AJ goes tomorrow as the Phil's come to town. Go Yanks!
