The Happiest Man in America

Why is this guy so psyched? Well, because over the weekend the Giants got him two new WR's a new H-back, and a new running back who can catch! Why else is he psyched? All four of them have great, not good, hands and don't drop passes. And what might be psyching him up the most? None of them or the remaining pass receivers and backs on the team spend the offseason down in Miami. So for the first time in his career Eli Manning can spend the whole offseason in Jersey developing chemistry with his targets. What a novel idea!

A novel idea indeed... The question is will he have one more target that also wears #17 :-). Reese continues to not rule it out

I am not afraid to go it without Braylon and the big contract. I believe that we have receivers that will eventually be as good, if not better. It will take some patience.

John we saw what happened last year w/o the deep threat. None of our current crop strike fear into other teams. We need someone that can roll the safety out of the box. I know we are primarily a running team, but it was made that much more effective with the presence of Plaxico. Without Plax we don't win the SB his game in GB was probably the best by a Giant WR ever. We cannot wear Jake down, and we need to see what Bradshaw and Danny Ware will do with more carries. We know that Eli is not accurate, and we cannot rely on rookies Barden/Nicks to be major contributors right away.

I am in the camp that says we need a veteran WR, preferably Braylon otherwise we may not make the run we want to.

Reese was on Francesa yesterday and refused to rule it out yet again.

I think we just have to adjust the passing game a bit to accomodate what the guys can do well. I think they'll look at the Seattle game last year where Eli really spread it around and be less reliant on any one receiver. I also think the screen game will grow. All these young WR's are very talented, they just need to put them in a position to succeed this year.

Will TC be able to change? We all know he has a propensity for the deep pass. What about using the Tight End more? More intermediate routes. Even then we still need the threat of the deep pass. You could take things out of the Seattle game, but history shows they are an awful team on the east. I am not doubting the potential of our young WR at all. I just think based on what we saw last year, and know Eli to be, a vet like Braylon is that missing piece to the puzzle. If teams are focusing on him, that will only help the younger guys contribute even more.

We all know TC is not one to adjust so quickly, though his attitude adjustment was a big key in helping us win the SB. We have a good young team that will compete for years to come.

Reese was on Cowherd today and did not close the door yet again, saying lots of mis info out there, and that they will be looking at a vet WR Braylon or otherwise. I am not saying it has to be Braylon or even Boldin.

I believe we do have some deep threats. We need to put them out on the field and let them play. My problem with Eli is that he seemed to lock in on Plax or sometimes Amani, too much. If he gets to trust these young guys and spreads the ball around, we may find we have more talent than we know what to do with. However, I am not against getting Bray if the deal favors us.

Matt Williamson of Scouts Inc was in a ESPN chat today and commended our draft especially from the position we drafted in. He also thought Braylon would be on the way in a couple months..
