Rangers win by Shootout

Nik Antropov had the first goal of the game and another in the shootout, and I owe him a big apology. He was worth the pick. Still the Rangers gave up three 1 goal leads tonight, and that was a little ridiculous, especially after Ryan Callahan put them up 1 again with just 5 minutes or so to play in the 3rd. Too many penalties and odd man rushed and not quite enough Hank tonight. Still, they pull ahead of the Canadiens by a point in the playoff race, and they had to do that. Good win. Go Rangers.

How good does Antropov look? He's been incredible and our best offensive player by far over the last few games. I'm stunned really...he's everything I thought Naslund would be.

Great win last night, even if it should have been in regulation.

He really has been good. I was unimpressed by the pick-ups, but all three have fit right in and made some of my posts look dumb.

That's alright ... I'm sure you'll be happy to have "look[ed] dumb" if the Rangers keep on winning, right? Most Ranger fans I know weren't exactly ecstatic either. I was skeptical to say the least.

You're spot on with your insights 99% of the time...can't win em all.

Getting the 2 back for Cherapanov also helps. I wonder if Sather knew that was on the way when he traded the 2.

Perhaps he did, although I still think trading the 2 was unecessary. First time I can remember a NY team being granted an exception. Seems like the Rangers and Knicks always get screwed with those kinds of things, but maybe that's my inner fan talking.

We're going to need to be very strong in the drafting/development department in the next few years because of the heavy $$ allotments to veterans currently on the roster. If we're going to break into the top tier of the East, I think it's imperative that our young guys turn into dependable regulars quickly.

I think getting the right coach was a great step. I think Evgeny Grachev looking like a future All-Star shows a little luck, but we thought it was at least a good pick back during the draft.

Anisimov, Sanguinetti and Del Zotto, as well as Doyle, Stepan and Hageling all made solid progree this year, too.

Good to hear. I have a harder time keeping up with Rangers prospects than Yankees prospects so I don't have much to add other than I hope they work out.

I do like Torts a lot so far. Between Avery, Antropov, Morris, and Tortorella, it's amazing how the personality of this team has changed so much in such a short time.

I'm concerned with Drury and Dubinsky. Drury is always going to be overpaid, but he just looks disinterested and unathletic half the time.

Dubi I love and I hope he can bury a few goals because he's having trouble finding the back of the net. I hope its not a confidence thing because he's got some bigtime skills.

Dubi just has to get de-Renneyed. He needs to take the puck to the net and blast it, and stop taking the puck around the side of the net. He and Callahan, Korpi, Staal and Girardi are gonna help us win it all in the next few years.

I like your optimism and I hope you're right...I was a little too young to fully remember the 94 cup (I was 8 or 9). I have some faded memories but nothing like the 07 Giants.

Having the goalie in place, and a bunch of young two way players in place and on the way is all you need to know. They'll probably be big winners again by next year.

with a smart offseason, which includes unloading one of the big contracts(Roszival most likely b/c his deal is cheap in future years in comparison to most D-Men) we will be in business.
