Garcia Breaking Out?

The two prospects drawing the most raves thus far in Yankee Camp are Andrew Brackman and Christian Garcia. Garcia has been star crossed since being the Yanks third rounder in 2003. Still only 23, Garcia has missed time with TJ sugery and leg injuries. In fact, given the time he's missed it's pretty incredible that he's as polished as he is. Chris features 3 plus pitches: fastball; curveball; and change. Last year, his first coming off of TJ surgery, he didn't have his pre-injuy velocity which saw him topping out at 97. If the fastball is back this year, he will fly through the system, and could even make a Joba Rules type major league debut out of the pen. He's already on the 40 man roster, so it wouldn't be hard to promote him. Finally healthy, I think he can break out just like Coke and Hacker did last year. Keep an eye on him.

He was immature, he's reportedly grown up and his teammates like him, so it's not like we're asking you to root for Kevin Brown or Randy Johnson.

Will Garcia be in Trenton to start the season?

SWB will be crowded with SP.
