Encore?

There is buzz this morning that a threeway deal that would send David Lee to the Blazers and Quentin Richardson to the Clippers for Marcus Camby and Channing Frye could be getting close. Of course, the Knicks would have to get a high pick or a young player like Portland's Jerryd Bayless in the deal. Let's face it, Lee has high trade value around the league and for Portland to win the Lee lottery, they have to be giving up more than Channing Frye.
As for Camby and Frye, both would add height to the vertically challenged Knicks and both should also flourish in the D'Antoni system. Let's see if this one happens. So far the package seems light given the demand for Lee.

Welcome back and Happy New Year Phil!!!

What kind of cap implications would this have?

Camby is expiring and Frye will be an RFA, the key will be to get Jerryd Bayless and other young talent/picks in the deal since other teams are eager to trade for Lee too. It's gotta be the best package of talent, youth, picks and cap flexibility.

Getting Bayless would be huge IMO, and it would justify moving Lee. As you said we need to get youth and maintain flexibility. So far Donnie has done a tremendous job, now if he can move Curry...
