Shockey Traded
Jeremy Shockey finally got his offseason wish today when he was traded to Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints for second and fifth round picks in the 2009 draft. Shockey was the player I wanted the Giants to get in the 2002 draft and has been a favorite of mine since then. Still, he did not respond well when his teammates won the Super Bowl without him and eventually forced the trade. It's a shame things ended this way, but the Giants did the right thing. Shockey's still a great player when he's healthy, but he is rarely healthy and the Giants could not afford the further distractions he was threatening.
In other news, they officially signed Terrel Thomas and Shane Olivea today, so good talent came in as great, but injured talent went out. Training camp starts Thursday, go Giants!
