Walking to New Orleans?

The Saints have apparently not given up hope of adding Jeremy Shockey to Sean Payton's Big Easy O. The latest buzz has them offering the #40 pick plus S Roman Harper for the Giant TE. Though the Giants are denying talks, it's clear something could be cooking with the probowl TE as the draft appproaches.

Though, it would be good to another top 50 pick in a flat draft (lots of red chippers!) and a young starting safety in Harper, the Giants TE situation would get a little desperate. It's unclear whether or not Boss will ever be the blocker Shockey is, and, of course Matthews will never be the target Shockey is. The Giants should hold out for more or hold onto Shock.

Phil do you think we are going to make a run at Asmounga? Garafolo seems to think we still may add an impact CB.

I think for the 31st pick it is worth it. Reese's comments to Palladino a week or so ago about them laying in the weeds seem to have some validity to it with these latest rumors swirling.

Matt SGS on BBI had an excellent post the other day where he stated how he thinks the Shockey and CB issues could possibly be related. Either way he feels Reese is in the market for Trufant or Asmounga, which I agree with that he his.
