Soul's Best Lead Singers: Russell Thompkins Jr.

The Stylistics were a sweet soul group from Philly. They worked with great producers like Thom Bell and Burt Bacharach and waxed a lot of classic sided. The membership of the group seemed to fluctuate between 3 and 5, but at all times, the lead singing was done by Russell Thompkins, Jr. His falsetto, though not quite the equal of Kendricks' ,in my opinion, was really something else.
