Rest in Peace, Bobby Byrd!

Bobby Byrd was, along with his boyhood friend, James Brown, one of the founders of funk. He was an original member of the Famous Flames and the JB's, contributing many songs, and unforgettable vocals on many of James Brown's greatest hits. He's the one doing the call and response with James on "Sex Machine", for example. He struck out on his own in the `70's and had a string of r&b hits. God bless his soul - we know he had one.
