The Newest Yankee

Jose Molina was picked up from Anaheim today for AA reliever Jeff Kennard. I really like this trade. Molina's a better defensive player than Wil Nieves is, and probably a better hitter. Jeff Kennard is an older prospect who was never gonna get to the majors with the Yanks. Good luck to him, and good work, Cash!

I agree Phil, a solid move. Go figure Nieves actually did something today!

Yeah, Michael Kay told me earlier that Proctor for Wiggington was about to happen. Then Buster Olney just said, that the deal could also include Al Reyes. We better be adding Cairo or some other major leaguer if that's the package. No real prospects should go in that deal.

I would agree no prospects should go. These low risk deals are exactly what we need.

I would be thrilled about that!

To get Reyes would be nice.

Wiggington should bump Phillips off 1B.

Phil what are your thoughts on this potential Proctor/Wiggy/Reyes move?

it's fine depending on what else is in it.

As long as its no prospects of value then I would be okay with it as well. Wiggington makes our bench stronger.

Wiggy's having a good year, but he doesn't have Yankee patience. Not saying he won't help - or hit a Booney/Leyritz homer in a bit situation, but he's nothing to get really excited about.

I think the costs of getting players that would get us really excited are way beyond what we should and would have to pay. It is a move that helps improve an area of weakness without giving up prime assets.
