Look Who's Smiling

Jerry Reese, fresh off a strong first move ain't done yet. Seems like he's gonna wrap up Ian Scott, Ike Reese and Rod Hood, and possibly trade McQuarters in the next little while. Now, I like bringing in Scott and Reese (he can help Spags install the D) but have been against Rod Hood. However; if McQ can be traded, than Hood is not as objectionable because he won't create as much of a backlog for the other CB's, and could be the oldest CB on the team as soon as Madison is done. Keep it going, Mr. Reese!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Here's a Jerry Reese quote from Bob Glauber's latest piece:

"I realize the perception is that we haven’t done anything through the first week of free agency because we haven’t signed any unrestricted free agents,” he said. “The opposite is true. We have been working very hard to do what’s best for this franchise. The fact is we had a few guys we had targeted that would have made sense for us under the right circumstances. A couple of those simply didn’t work out, but there is a whole lot of the free agency period left and the draft and the rest of the off-season for us to continue to build this roster, and we’re going to work smartly in doing that.”

really, Dan. What gives you that idea? He'll have the new agent, and we both know the meeting went well, but doesn't he still want the Lions?

I was listening Sirius the other day and they were talking about Curtis Visit and how he was intrigued of the idea that He wouldnt really be a 3rd reciever but more of a 2nd with amani and he like NY and that he loves Martz but doesnt really like Detroit's situation and how he thinks NY has a much much better chance of winning...so thas why, but we'll see what happens

I think we have the better offer, too. His new agent can start work at midnight.

I like what I am seeing. How much of the initial post is likely to happen?

all.

Yesss!!!! What round pick are we talking for McQ a 3??

I have no idea what we will get for McQ, but I doubt it's a first day pick.

Wishful thinking I suppose LOL!!! Should we expect to hear this (from the ESPN's of the world this weekend?) I know the Giants wont confirm anything until Monday..

Could be next week. The Giants have a lot cooking and they are more tight lipped than ever under Reese.

Even more then mentioned in the initial post of the thread?? If so does any of it get you excited?

At 5:58 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

more curious than excited. I have high hopes for Reese.

Me too. I am curious to see what he has up his sleeve. I must say that the trade would not have occured under previous GM's. Reese seems to bring a fresh approach to the table. If what he is working on now is anything like today's move, I bet we will all be pleasantly surprised.

so far, so good.

I saw the comment from Garafolo's blog and am very pleased with what he said. Seems like the younger and faster mantra will prevail!

I cannot wait to see what his next round of moves are

I think three teams want McQ, and my Strahan to Denver theory might have some traffic.

At 6:46 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

I meant traction... I'm getting a lot of computer traffic.

Strahan to Denver.... Hmm what sort of return could we possibly expect?

At 6:54 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

it better be a ton cause there will be pr fallout when and if the move is made.

has to be 1st or 2nd rounder..if 2nd rounder maybe with a player

At 7:01 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

If it's a second it has to also be a 3rd or 4th.

I can see it happening especially with Denver. Shanahan has proven in the past he is not reluctant to deal. I would suspect Denver is thinking he is the final piece for their D.

At 8:08 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

that's what I think they're thinking.

So Cato June is visiting soon. Remember that e-mail I posted last Friday night? It's basically said the Giants were gonna wait till the price went down on June then they'd go after him.

Ahhh yesss!!!! June is part of the plan. I love the fact Reese is doing things on his terms.
