My Greatest 100 (or so) Albums...

Astral Weeks (Warner Bros 1968) Saint Dominic's Preview (Warner Bros 1972) Van Morrison. Here are two more of Van the Man's greatest works. Astral Weeks is universally recognized as one of the all-time great albums. It was the first iteration of Caledonia Soul and the place where Van went from rough and tumble Them lead singer/Brown Eyed Girl tunesmith, to Big Time Genius who was working on something different. Astral Weeks is full of long songs, and intense lyrics that were as full of images as Dylan's - but different and unique. I'm sure it was a very surprising record in 1968 and it deserves its place in history. However; I would argue, that St. Dominic's Preview is just as good. In fact, it's almost Astral Weeks pt II (some of the AW images are revisited here) and like Godfather pt II it may be even deeper and better than the original. In other words, it's another masterpiece. Check them out. BTW, we are not done with Van!
