The Amazing Spiderman #2 and #21 by Steve Ditko. Check out how much Ditko's commitment to the character grew between issue #2 and #21. Notice his thicker lines and tighter poses, even if you look at #16 which I posted yesterday, you'll see a distinct difference. Ditko took a big step up around issue #20, and we'll be tracking those covers till he left over the next little while.
