Nick Johnson Redux?

Now, I've told you for weeks, the Yanks could be interested in bringing OBP Jesus back to the Bronx. The latest rumor is Nicky and Mike Hinckley for Melky, Eric Duncan and Humberto Shanchez. And frankly, I don't believe it. Cashmoney Green doesn't make a habit of losing at trades, and I don't see him trading Sanchez in a deal like this. Sanchez for Soriano was something the Nats would do straight up last Summer, so there is no reason to believe it would also take Melky and Duncan to get Nick. So, if Melky and Duncan are involved, it's another piece and not Sanchez. He is the gold, the Nats cannot have. We'll see what happens. I still sort of expect Nicky back soon.

Not a terrible trade, just not a win. They can't put Sanchez in the package. I don't see Hinckley being of interest to the Yanks, either. I'm positive they want Nicky back, though.

With Moose, RJ, and Pettitte having potential health issues, it wouldn't be prudent to trade Sanchez.

If Cash is refusing to move Proctor, he is seriously misguided.

Is this rumor from a published source?

No. It's just making it's way around the net tonight. The only reason I think there might be a grain to it is that the Yanks do want NJ back.
