More Yanks
According to the latest Times article, the Igawa deal is just about done and just needs a physical, and the only thing holding up the hard to stomach Melky for Gonzalez deal is the Yankees concern over Gonzalez's elbow.

So what's going to assuage their concern? MRIs can't rule out a recurrence of tendinitis. A pre-existing injury predisposes you to another injury.
Are we sure that Emslie and Connors aren't back in control? Because if Cashman is in control and he makes this move, he is no longer Cashmoney, he is Cashpoor.
I also think they're overpaying Igawa, in light of Matsuzaka's contract.
I don't have a problem with the Igawa deal at all. Not including luxury tax implications that aren't guaranteed for the length of the deal and will be easy for the Yanks to pay cause of the stadium construction. It's less than half of what Dice cost and he's more than half of what Dice is.
Gonzalez is pretty elite as a set-up man, and even though I will puke twice if Melky is traded and Bernie is re-signed, Gonzalez will help our pen, so I'd still call him Cashmoney Green, but I'd be pissed.
