More Yanks

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
First off, the Top 50 is up over at Pinstripe Plus http://yankees.scout.com/ and they have some membership deal going on that you might want to take advantage of.

More Yanks have declared for FA including Villone, Sturtze and Bernie. I wish Bernie would just retire and not tempt Torre and they Yanks again this year. I don't want to see him play for anyone else, but am willing to if it means never seeing him in the Yankee OF again.

There are rumors, and I think logical assumptions that a deal for Sheff is already in place. Today's mix has him headed to Philly for troubled young pitcher Gavin Floyd. You have to think Cashmoney can do better than that. It will be interesting to see. There's speculation that a deal will be done by the weekend, but I see no reason to rush, unless someone is being irrational on the other side of the deal.

There's another rumor that the Yanks are high on Jeff Suppan. Seems like we could get average innings eaten by Rasner and/or Karstens, but who knows the origin of the Suppan rumor? In Cash I trust, and so should you.

If Cash signs Suppan, in addition to having been the driving force that saved Torre's job, my trust in him will have taken a serious hit.

I don't want either Sturtze or Villone back. Torre would rely on them to the exclusion of Bruney, Rasner, and anyone else who doesn't possess an AARP card.

I think Henn will be ready to contribute from the pen, too. Also, Kennard should be able to help soon. He throws hard!
