Does Giant Pride Really Exist?

I don't understand how Giant Pride could produce efforts like we've seen the last three weeks. So, does it really exist or is it a meaningless turn of phrase. I guess we'll find out, but, it certainly has not been restored. Let me know what you think about Giant Pride.

There is No Damn Pride....This Team Dont Care....Eli has to show more emotion.....Plax can stop smiling after losing a game....Coughlin Should Be Gone As Head Coach.....Charlie Weis Should Be In As New Head Coach.....Its So Embarassing To Be a Giants Fan Right Now

yes it does. coughlin has it. lots of the players have it. but pride isn't the be all / end all to winning football games.

you have a team that has the talent to win the super bowl, but u have a coach ing staff who doesnt now how to coach......2nd and 4 8 mins left....why are we throwing a bomb....how about big bad tom grows a pair and rips into Plax

Yes, it does exist and it came form the old days when the Giants were the flagship franchise of the NFL.

I am just as frustrated and angry as any fan anywhere in the world, but have faith and things will get better.

Go read a good book and appreciate the finer things life has to offer. It helps, it really does.

It starts with ownership. The only time that winning was the number 1 priority was when George Young was the GM and Bill Parcells was the coach. The Mara's have never been about winning.

Its just a phrase. Pride comes from within, not simply by putting on a certain jersey or helmet. Pride is also fostered by having belief in yourself and by the coaching staff putting players in the best position to win football games. With the Giants both are lacking at this point.

A regime change is probably the only way out of this downward spiral. Then again if we beat Dallas next week Pride is restored.....

all the points in the 4th...How does this happen? A great game by everyone...and a total let down...Im floored

Pride doesn't throw passes or make tackles. This talk is all a bunch of mumbo-jumbo. It's stupid.

The Giants could not have played a better game for 3 quaters.....At the start of the 4th....this game was over....Eli managed the game perfectly...The run to pass was fine....

lono, check out the latest album write ups while you're here.

Deep, unnecessary pass to Plax was the beginning of the end.

It exists, but it isn't something you can just talk about and expect it to show. For all the talk about restoring it, TC is just talk so far.

for 3 Q's this team looked great.....Granted they took the 3rd off......But all 34 points in the 4th? Where does this team let down so badly?

At 6:55 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

Well, for one we gave them great field position...

Sorry.....24 points.....Im still in shock. Kiwi had the sack to end the game and the refs didnt call it. The Webster PF was the omen...A running QB will kill you every time...and the refs call the game that way.....Things have to change next year....Thanks Phil for letting me vent...

And for our next stupid question, is there really a difference between a Yankee and a "True Yankee". Discuss...

I guess, oh nameless nonentity, you missed Tom Coughlin's speech when he was hired. He promised to restore "Giant Pride." After yesterday's historic meltdown, it was as fair question.

The "true Yankee" nonsense standard that fans have concocted is not the same as self identifying phrases a coach uses and repeats. "Giant Pride" is Tom Coughlin's turn of phrase, not mine and yesterday was as good a time as any to ask about it.

I remember Colonel Coughlin talking about "Giant Pride" many times, and it ranks up there with his stupid "injuries are a state of mind" babble. I love how "Giant Pride" got them the win in Philly back in week 2 but "Giant Pride" wasn't around yesterday. Boy is that "Giant Pride" inconsistant!

It's a bunch of foolishness, much like "True Yankee" and "injuries are a state of mind".

I agree that "true Yankees" is nonsense. Giant Pride is a Tom Coughlin calling card and after three bad losses, it was time to talk about it and see where everyone stood.

Fair enough.
