Giants Tomorrow

Huge trap game for the Giants tomorrow agains the Bucs. The key will be maintaining their intensity and playing Giant Football. That means running with Tiki and Jake, deploying play action, and avoiding turnovers and penalties. The Bucs give up 5.1 ypc. We should be able to do a lot better than that with Tiki and Jacobs and two TE's out there. The Tampa safeties are not great, so if we can set them up, we can burn them, but it's crucial that we don't get cute. Just play Giant Football.

On D, we have to stop the run, as we always do. Watch out for the short stuff in the passing game as Gradkowski doesn't have a particularly big arm. Naturally, it would also be nice to add to our string of 6 or more sack perfomances. Gradkowski is mobile, but he's not Vick, and we should be able to bury him some.

On specials, keep up the good coverage, and let's try to get some returns for a change.

This is a trap game against a flawed opponent, but if we play Giants Football, we won't be trapped!

GO GIANTS!

Just stay clear of Ronde Barber and we win this game easily.

Yup, don't let him make any big plays. BTW, watch out for him on the corner blitz.

Ronde takes the slot receiver when teams go three wr's. That means Torrie Cox will have to line up oppposite Plax or Toomer. Oh my?

Tomorrow the slot receiver should be Shockey more often than not.

One concern I have is that one of the best ways to attack the Tampa 2 is to throw slants to the wr's attacking the middle zone. Eli has a bad habit of throwing behind his receivers on this type of pattern. We need to avoid turnovers tomorrow. Shockey will have a big day.

Odd, that, Marty. Thanks for posting and clicking. The Tampa safeties are not as good at the Tampa 2 as they used to be, nor is the Mike man. Eli's short stuff has been getting better and better this season, so let's see if he takes another step tomorrow.

Your welcome. Quarles has an excellent reputation as a pass defender. It is run defense that is questionable. He has been dinged. He will be on the hot seat tomorrow. The Tampa safeties are dubious. The Bucs have not recovered from Lynch's departure imo.
