The Knicks are Officially Out

The NBA has unveiled it's plan and it doesn't include the Knicks.  22 teams will finish the final 8 games of the season down at Disney World (ESPN got it's pound of flesh) and then continue to a 16 team playoff format. The extra regular season games are to complete local TV deals and expand interest - just not to NYC. This is actually great news for the Knicks who have a ton of thinking to do and, hopefully, a  comprehensive coaching search to undertake. It would also be wise for them to move up in the lottery, but who knows if that will be possible through luck or pick bundling. But at least they won't waste 8 or 9 more weeks waiting to get into the heavy lifting, they can start that now.
