Yandle Stuff

A couple of interesting points about Yandle.  First, we've talked about making stretch passes and chipping pucks to the fast guys a bit over the past few years - even when Torts was here and Hags and Kreider showed up.  Yandle can really make those passes, so, it should be fun to get him out there with the fast guys.

What's more - and this is and admittedly small sample size - but last year was the first time I've ever seen the Rangers make it to the finals without a bread n butter offensive defenseman.  First there was Park, then there were Greschner and McEwen, then they had Leetch and Zubov (and won) and then they had last year, when McD's game was developing and he had a hell of a run, but wasn't that same kind of offensive defenseman the others were -- and Yandle is again.  Now, I don't think he's going to be Leetch or Park, but I think he is going to be able to bring the puck up and make plays.

Also, he'll be wearing #93.

I wouldn't have traded Duclair, but I would trade a 1st for a 27 year old. It is the ridiculous MSL trade that killed the picks picture.

I almost understand stupid shirt-sighted trades when a team can't develop talent because they panic.

The Rangers strength has been development.

But Sather wants a Cup so he can retire.

I actually think their strength is scouting -- but that the system doesn't screw the kids up.

I think the Rangers will be able to continue to find big time prospects outside of round 1.

Call Buchnevich & Duclair a wash: Basically moved Anisimov, two 1sts, & a 2nd to upgrade Gaborik to Nash, Dubi to Brassard, & add Yandle.

I'm not sure what "a wash" means in this context, but as I said, it makes more sense than 2 1sts for MSL.

Buchnevich is the goods. But so was Duclair.

The Rangers scouts have been great at finding guys even when they don't have picks -- like Kevin Hayes and MZA.

Still hoping we can pick up a pick or two today.

Cant argue that Phil. Dan Rosen and Jesse Spector made that point. He said that Hayes really is a 1st round pick, and complimented the org for their scouting.

Hope they can find another guy like Hayes this off-season. Someone from College who won't sign with their team.

Doubt there are any such folks out there though, who are worth it.
