The forgotten man of Yankee OF prospects, Ramon Flores, started his rehab today and homered. This man has the walk gene and still has time to work his way onto next year's team. Along with Severino returning today, this is great news.
Great news. Hopefully we hear some news on Jorge Mateo soon.
Also, did you see Yancarlos Baez is in the GCL? Last person I remember ever moving from DSL to GCL mid-season was Flores himself but I could be way off base.
He was a big sign ($650k) a year or 2 ago if I remember correctly, I hope he is someone to follow!
While Flores has no real speed to speak of, his plate discipline is really good, like the author notes, and he has some pop, although he is not a slugger in any sense of the word.
I think, if he was not hurt earlier, he would have had a small role in NY ahead of Almonte.
