DePaula Gets His Visa
In the first bit of GOOD Yankee news this year, Rafael DePaula finally got his visa and will be coming stateside to pitch. He may or may not have the highest upside in the system as far as pitchers go. Looks the part, and throws smoke. Videos of him show some rawness, but he's been working at the Yankee Academy in the DR for nearly two years, and according to the Yanks has really improved. We'll see, but this is finally some really good news for the Yanks.

Awesome news, but I beg to differ, Phil. The Kuroda signing was good news, and Hughes' spring is certainly good news. :)
Kuroda was cancelled out by the dumb trade When Hughes is throwing 96 again in starts, I'll get excited about Hughes again. He should be way ahead of where he is now, so I can't give him credit for showing up in shape. He still doesn't use his legs like he used to.
A bit too pessimistic for my tastes, Phil. I know you're upset about Montero, but the Yankees obviously felt he was a player without a position.
As far as DePaula, he and Campos instantly become some of the top two arms in the organization, when you factor in how close Banuelos and Betances are.
In their history the Yanks have never traded a young player with an 80/80 bat. Never. Ever. But they just did. Stupid as hell.
Pineda had a solid outing today, finally...
Still no velo. I hope we didn't trade for a 23 year old junkballer.
