So Brian Cashman heads down to Dallas tomorrow for the Winter Meetings. Nothing seems "hot" with the Yankees as they wait for Darvish, Cespedes and Soler to hit the market. Maybe they'll pick someone in the rule five. Maybe not. Just don't trade Montero, and things should be okay. Go Yanks!

Phil you think that Cash is gonna remain relativel patient this year, especially with the likes of Hamels,Cain, and Liriano, Haren all potentially available next year? To save some resources for then? It would seem prudent to do that in my mind, especially as any one of them could be traded prior to the deadline..

Seems like he's being patient.
Phil, might we get a post discussing your thoughts on the new CBA and where the Yankees go from here?
I don't think it will bother them.
I think it's bad for the league, though. Many prep players will simply opt for college baseball with hopes of pushing their stock to first-round caliber. And two-sport stars will be driven away. Bud messed up this time.
Comrade Bud always messes things up.
Yanks, Oakland, KC Discussing 3-Way Deal for Gio Gonzalez
By Chuck Johnson ~ December 6th, 2011. Filed under: Rumor Mill.
A source down at the Winter Meetings informed me of a 3-way deal being discussed between the Yankees, Oakland, and Kansas City. The players discussed were:
Yankees get: Gio Gonzalez
A’s get: LF Brett Gardner from Yanks, 1B Clint Robinson from Royals.
Royals get: RHP David Phelps, OF Michael Taylor, and a PTBNL from Yanks that is expected to be off 40-man roster.
Source quotes Yanks rep as indicating Cashman being comfortable “leaving without doing anything” and knowing “teams needs are more than our wants.”
That guy is supposedly unreliable. But I would give up Gardy for Gio. The Yanks are acting like nothing is hot. Though Cash is known to do that, even when things are about to happen.
