It Has to be Yu

The Yanks have already taken care of their most pressing need for 2012 by re-signing CC Sabathia. Now, they need to be patient and see what their options are for rebuilding the bench and rotation. The big exception here is Yu Darvish. It's no secret that the Yanks have been scouting Darvish for years. I also think they have been pooling funds for a bid on Darvish. Darvish makes the most sense for the Yanks because all he will cost is money, and no players or picks. The Yanks don't look like they will be picking up any extra draft picks this year, so they need to protect the ones they have to the extent they can. Darvish is a stuff pitcher who has dominated his league for years, and is still young. He will be younger than Phil Hughes next year, for example. So getting him would give them a chance add an impact starter for years to come. Nothing wrong with that. The only uncertainty is the bidding process, but, hopefully, they've done their homework and will win the right to sign him.

Other than that, they just need to find this year's Chavez, Jones, Garcia and Colon. They can do it. Go Yanks!

Bid $70 million, which isn't subject to the luxury tax, then offer him something along the lines of four years, $36 million.

If he accepts and is good, he's young and cost-controlled for several years. If he's Daisuke 2.0, he's tradable.

Rangers are hot on him and they will likely win the bidding as CJ is not coming back to TX.

Love to have Darvish and Danks this offseason.

We will see what happens.

We have no way of knowing who is "likely" to win the bidding at this point. In 2006, no one expected the Red Sox to go all out like they did for Matsuzaka. It's a blind bid; any team can come out of nowhere and surprise.

I'll put it this way, if the Yankees really want him, I don't see them getting out-spent. The question is, how much confidence do they have that his stuff will translate over here?

Take a gamble on Sizemore.

That's what I'm rooting for as well: Danks and Darvish

Sizemore has troubling splits.

If Long can fix Granderson than he can fix Sizemore as well.

I would take a healthy Sizemore or even 75% of him over Swisher.

I've been trumpeting Sizemore for weeks. Long can fix him. What a dream defensive OF with him added in it would be!

I wouldn't mind taking a gamble on Sizemore.

Who is Yoenis Cespedes? His video is kind of hokey and is stated to be 26 years old.
