Yanks Bullpen Comes Through!

Bartolo Colon, was pretty good, but the Sox were grinding and got his pitch count way up with 2 outs and the bases loaded in 5th. Girardi went to Boone Logan! And it was brilliant. He K'd Gonzalez on three pitches to end the threat. He also got two outs in the 6th before giving up a hit and giving way to Cory Wade. He got the final out, and Rafael Soriano came in to pitch the 7th. This was his biggest inning of the year, up one in Boston. And he came through! Hitting 95 in his 1-2-3 inning. Then Robertson did his thing, and Mo did his. Yanks take the first game! CC goes tomorrow! Go Yankees!!!!!

Where is JC Romero?

He is pitching pretty well in SWB and you would think with guys like Ortiz, Gonzalez and Crawford he would be up here.

JC isn't on the 40 man, and I have a feeling the next add to the 40 will be Montero.

Who would get bumped for Montero?

If only we made the Cervelli for Lincoln deal.

Probably a pitcher, we carry too many.

It's time for the Yankees and Posada to part ways, or at least have him accept a bench role.

CC was bad, and the being able to hit Lackey is inexcusable.

We have to call up Monteor. And yes, CC would appear to have a mental block around beating Boston this year. Everything was up.

The Yankees should just forfeit every game against the Sox from here on out and hope Boston loses enough games to somehow still let NY win the division. They are flat-out intimidated by Boston, which boggles my mind, because they match up well with them.

I don't think that at all. We got screwed on balls and strikes tonight. And we are 2 games closer to first than when the trip started. And we've been on this run without ARod. And we will be adding ARod and Montero to our batting order down the stretch. The Yanks are in very good shape for the stretch run. They're O is about the get ridiculous, and Soriano appears to be back. Let this churn for awhile.

If two teams are evenly matched, and in August, one team only has two wins vs. the other, that's mental. If I'm Girardi, I'm screaming at the players to stop acting like sissies and remember that they're the Yankees, for crying out loud.

Still got a lotta games left, and CC is the one to be mad at, but how can we be mad at CC?

We've got the real Soriano now, so that makes our great pen that much greater.

We're adding ARod and Montero. That's going to lengthen our lineup. We'll beat Boston.

Mo has now blown 14 saves against Boston. The most against any other team.

Probably because there are more opportunities to do so.

It was a fluke losing that game last night. No big deal.

Yanks are loaded and reinforcements are coming.

What is taking so long for them to bring up Montero?

It's an off day, they may wait till it's game time tomorrow to bring him up. They may also have to order Girardi to play him.

Montero staying in AAA.

The more time passes that he's not called up, the more I buy into the theory that he's nothing more than trade bait.

He'll come up. There's nothing worth trading him for, and part of the org is getting annoyed that he's been sort of blocked by Girardi.

At 9:00 PM, Blogger MikeK said...

Blocked by him in what way?

At 10:05 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

Girardi doesn't want to play him at C. He seems to prefers no-hit catchers, like he was.

That's where the organization has to step in and say, "This is what you're doing."
