Yanks Win Again!
Bartolo Colon was excellent again today, giving up 3 runs over 7 innings. Unfortunately, Verlander was going for the Tigers, and the Yanks were hitting into bad luck every time they had men on base. Brett Gardner had a single, two walks, a run and a great catch, and seems to be waking up. Anyway, with the game tied at three in the top of the ninth, things looked like the bad luck wouldn't end as Grandy got thrown out when he overslid a base he had cleanly stolen. With 1 out, though, Tex walked ARod got and infield hit, and Swish singled home Tex. With Martin up and ARod on third, the Tiger catcher missed one, and ARod scored from 3rd. Mo pitched a scoreless 9th, for his 11th save. Keep rolling. Go Yanks!
Meanwhile, all of the tests on Phil Hughes came back negative, so they're sending him to another specialist. Yeesh. Feel better, Phil!
