Rangers Win the Victoria Cup!
In what was a tremendous bonus for hockey fans, The Rangers came back from a 3-0 mid secod deficit to win the first annual Victoria Cup by defeating Mettalurg Magnitogorsk of the Russian Central League in Bern, Switzerland. Drury keyed the comeback scoring the first and third goals, Fritsche scored the second goal, and Callahan scored the Cup winner on a takeaway and a great move. It was a really exciting game, and there was even a cheesy Cup ceremony following the contest. I hope what we saw during the comeback was the Rangers starting to gel. This is a skilled team that's defensively responsible and really knows how to capitalize on turnovers. Hank was shaky in the early going but came around and made some big saves to keep the comeback coming in the 3rd. In all, I don't think the Rangers couldn't have had a better preseason finale, and Drury seems to have earned the C. The real games start Saturday and I hope the effort carries over. Go Rangers!
