He Did it AGAIN!

Who are they waiting for? AROD! He just hit another come from behind walk-off homer at Yankee Stadium. He and the Yanks had struggled all day, down 6-2 with 2 outs in the ninth, Phelps homered, Posada singled, Damon walked, Jeter singled, Abreu singled and then ARod homered to win it! This was all against the Cleveland closer who had been 5-5 in save appearances. He hit it out to CF again. Wow. He was 0-4 till then and had just missed his pitch in the 8th. He's amazing right now.

He needs to retire as a Yankee.

I totally agree. All those whiny fans will be sorry if he leaves, you just do not replace his production. As good as the lineup is it will be much more manageable if he leaves. I think Cash and Co will get it done.

If he does stay, he can longer be reasonably viewed as a mercenary (not that the media and many fans are reasonable), he gets a chance to play for a WS contender every year, he goes into the HoF wearing a Yankee hat, he gets to come to Old Timer's Day games until he dies or becomes incapacitated, and still gets to pad his 9 figure net worth. That sounds like a pretty good deal.
