Cool Guy Flick Alert

Rolling Thunder (American International, 1977) Directed by John Flynn and starring William Devane and Tommy Lee Jones. This was one of three movies that Paul Schrader wrote in the mid-70's that essentially have the same plot. The other two are Hardcore and Taxi Driver. Anyway, in this one, a Vietnamese POW returns home, only to find more Hell: his family is mudered and his hand is destroyed in a robbery. The only thing he really has left that he can call his own is REVENGE. He recruits his old subordinate, Tommy Lee Jones, and derned if they don't get it. A very, very cool movie. Devane has been a terrifically underrated actor.
