More Yanks!

Instead of buying out Jaret Wright for 4M, the Yanks have traded him and the 4M to Baltimore for 23 year old power reliever Chris Britton, who, in 2006 jumped from AA to the bigs and had a strong season. This is a big win for the Yanks. They would have had to give Wright 4M anyway, and to come away with another young piece in the bridge to Mo is just great. Keep rockin' Cashmony Green!

It's kind of odd that Baseball
America
said he had the best control of the O's prospects, but the article in the Baltimore Sun article states that: "However, team officials were concerned about Britton's lack of command of a second pitch behind his fastball, and they also were worried about ongoing conditioning problem"

I'd probably rather get one of their better AAA prospects.

Rich, the Sun is saying that cause he got sent down for two weeks in August to fix his curveball. But the Sun forgets that once he did he pitched to a 1.42 ERA. The Orioles prospects are not that great, I'd take this kid.

I know. I read that he said he had a good working relationship with Scott MacGregor, but that also means that Mazzone couldn't fix him, and the Yankees don't have a pitching coach in his class.

Maybe the light will go on, and he'll get his weight down.

Yanks did pretty well with Bruney. I like the deal, and Mazzone couldn't fix anything last year and has just shown a predilection for "picking his own groceries." This is a hideously shortsighted move by the O's.

I don't know. They have an actuary who produces numbers, stats and patterns for them, so maybe.

Their prescience in changing their strength and conditioning coach becomes more apparent with each new deal.
