More Yanks
Could the Yanks be getting Connor Jackson and Brandon Medders for Randy Johnson and another piece? Well, that's the rumor I'm hearing. Of course this would look like more Jedi Mind Tricks from Cashmoney Green, depending of course on who the other player is. I'd imagine there is money going to AZ, too. Anyway, we'll see if this happens, but it does "feel" like a Cashmoney Green type of deal.

do u hear its close or just names being discussed
I heard it will get done before the ball drops.
Source?
this deal would kick all kinds of ass... i hope your source is reliable
So do I. And I want it to get done already.
the additional piece should be one of proctor, karstens, rasner, or white... nothing more. i might even be willing to part with clippard, but the yankees better not be picking up any of RJ's salary in that scenario.
We'll see. I doubt it will be Proctor. And Steven White needs to reestablish himself a little to up his value either to the Yanks or to a trade partner.
Oh, I stupidly assumed it was a published source. My bad. I hope it gets done.
Hmmm, no new Times piece on the trade talks, and nothing in Newsday yet, either. They're generally first out. This might mean a deal has been reached and we're in the 72 hour negotiation period. Remember, when the Sheff deal was made, it was made on Tuesday but didn't come out till Friday.
white had a solid year last year, and it was the first time in a long time that he was able to stay healthy for the whole season. if you recall, there were rumors last year at the trading deadline that cash would send white to the bucs for craig wilson (of course, chacon got the short end of that stick instead.) so one can at least assume that white has some value even right now.
if we're getting medders as part of the package, we'll have a surplus of righties, and the whole lefty situation still will not have been resolved. i'm actually more inclined to offer proctor (due to his huge leap in workload and that clicking in his elbow which he now has as a result of it) and see if the dbacks are willing to include eveland.
hey, it's a long shot, but i choose to aim high.
I think if Proctor goes, it will be because we've picked up Medders and now are willing to deal Proctor in the mix for Gonzalez.
NJ.com:
A person familiar with the process, who asked not to be identified because nothing has been consummated, said there is "nothing imminent" in the Randy Johnson trade talks. But there is some belief a resolution could be reached within a week.
If San Francisco, which came to terms Barry Zito yesterday, drops out of the talks, that would seem to leave Arizona and San Diego as the primary trade partners.
Johnson, who asked the Yankees to look into trading him to a team closer to his Arizona home, could presumably be of interest to the Los Angeles Angels, because they were involved with Zito to an extent.
I still think something is imminent but we're in that 72 hour period. I think we'll find out when it's over.
